I've devised a philosophy about people and their relationship with technology. People's interest in technology can take on two forms, genuine and parasitic. A person with a genuine interest in technology uses it simply because they either love or like it. A person who has a parasitic interest in technology uses it simply to their own advantage eg the internet HAS information so he or she can use it for finding about about say Michael Jackson, facts about Jupiter, Halley's comet or even the history of McDonald's if you like or the internet can be used as an alternative form of communication eg forums like this one and social networking sites like facebook twitter etc but neither loves or likes tecnology.
So my question is, which one applies to you parasitic or genuine? Sorry about the detail by the way. One other thing is that the genuine find it harder to cope being without compared to the parasitic. I'm on the parasitic side.

Can't you has be both?

I'm probably parasitic, because I honestly don't care how my computer or internet works (to take an example), but I like to use it for info and leisure :)

Good point, yes you can have both.
