Overheard a few teachers talking about english not going to be compulsory in the top 4 in the future. Has anyone else heard any rumours?
-
That is never going to happen.
-
U know, English is not compulsory for 4 right now already. U want to know why?
....
Because u can choose not to do English by doing Lit. Or ESL, if u can.

I meant an english subject in general - english, esl, english lit or english language.

Yeah this rumour has been spreading around at my school as well. It's not true though (I'm pretty sure)

This rumour surfaces every year. And imo English will always be compulsory.
However, what I can see happening is a major reform of the mainstream English subject.

English should always be in the top 4, as aforementioned, this is a yearly rumour.
