Hey guys,
I just wanted to know and get some tips on how to effectively study for Methods if you have a poor foundation and find it a little "difficult". Currently, I'm watching YouTube videos (khanacademy + patrickjmt) and also some other cool channels on YouTube. But what else would you recommend besides these? Please don't say "practice questions" because this is very obvious and it's very hard to answer questions if the concepts are not learnt properly.
I need a very good grasp of the concepts, so my main concern is actually learning the concepts.. learning concepts will help me in understanding and then I will I'll be able and do as much as practice questions for it..
Take into account that I'm not very good at subjects which require this type of abstract thinking..
So tips/advice is very appreciated from both past and current VCE students..
Please note good websites, study guides, activities, study methods, etc. which are effective in learning the concepts.?
- thanks peeps

Okay this is something I came to learn only late last year, just months before my methods exams. What I did was just go over the textbook carefully reading the theory and making notes on it and asking heaps of questions on the theory so really trying to probe my understanding of it. Once I felt that I knew something inside out then I would go and do the textbook questions (not all but enough to get used to the different types) then I once I nailed these and was completely confident that I knew it from the back of hand I would then hit checkpoints and neap smart study guides. In terms of theory...there isn't much but you have to know it first like principles then practice applying those. I'm not sure if that helps, but good luck!

It might be a good idea to post on here regarding the concepts you are struggling to grasp. This way you will be able to get feedback from multiple students about the ways they found effective in comprehending the said concepts, consequently enabling you to attempt a variety of methods for acquiring an understanding.
Personally, I found Jacks notes to be a good resource for working on a good foundation and understanding for certain aspects of not only methods but all my subjects, but this may not work for everyone :)
