on the mid year psychology exam for an A+? (just an estimate based on last year's)
-
not sure but biology is around 65/66 out of 75 for an A+ so i assume psychology would be around the same

This is what you are looking for. http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/2011/section3/vce_psychology_ga11.pdf

Lol yeah I can't work out how many marks gets you what scores though.
-
70.5/91 was an A+ for mid years last year, 74/90 for end of year.
-
Section c.. ain't it a bitch.

So I heard, the assessment report says that 0% (i guess that's effectively 0-0.5%, unless VCAA wanted to show that no one got it) of the state got 15/15 in the mid year Section C and 0% got 10/10 for the end of year.

The first page in the link above is for "WRITTEN EXAMINATION 1", i.e. exam 1.
Now in the bottom row of the first table there is "Score Ranges". For an A+ the score range is 141-182, with a maximum of 182.
Now when it comes to VCAA exams, two assesors mark them each giving a mark out of the total on the exam, hence why the total score in the link is 182, where as on the exam the total score will say
. So to achieve an A+ you need to get
, so 70.5 out of 91.
Same goes for the end of year, just go to the third page in that link ("Graded Assessment 3 WRITTEN EXAMINATION 2"), and pick the right numbers and divide by 2.

that makes sense now.. thanks :)

Section c.. ain't it a bitch.
in mid year last year the first section c was on Alzheimer's disease, this is something that doesn't even get taught in detail so for them to put it as an essay question was just ridiculous, no wonder why no one achieved full marks. I was expecting something on memory, or a type of learning for example classical conditioning, but they put something that is discussed in one damn paragraph in the entire textbook and made it worth 15 marks!! what were they thinking??
oh well it's over now...
i think they'll have something better this time :)

15 mark extended response on the amygdala coming right up...

grivas mentions amgydala once..

hahaha, LOL!
You better study for it, you'll need 15 good points about the amygdala to get full marks :P
-
Just a heads up, the ER will most likely be 10 marks, so hope this helps (:
-
No way its gonna be on the amygdala that would be a slap in the face to all the people who use grivas..

a slap in the face to all the people who use grivas..
that's precisely how i felt when i saw Alzheimer's...and my ATAR now that i think about it
anyways it probably won't be the amygdala, but as nacho said be prepared for ANYTHING!

Why is A the average SAC score? That seems really high ???

Usually B+ after moderation actually.

if the midyear A+ cut off turns out to be ~74/90,
what kind of midyear score would I need to get a 40SS? 45 SS? 50SS?

Just might re-bring this up, Mao's Study Score Estimator, put in the data for last year and what you think you could get (be honest/conservative). -> GA SCORE ESTIMATOR / STUDY SCORE ESTIMATOR
Also it won't just depend on the midyear exam score, the other two assesments play a part, and its a balance of the three that will get you your final Study Score.
-
yea I know that lol. but obviously you gotta score high enough across all three GAs to get those respective scores, I was just wondering if anyone had a good idea of whereabouts
