Can someone please explain to me the functions of the pineal gland and the pituitary gland?
I know that the pineal gland is located at the centre of the brain between the two hemispheres and the pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain. What are they responsible for? And what are their functions?
I always confuse them with one another. Apparently one releases growth hormones and the other releases melatonin?

pineal gland releases melatonin, therefore pituitary gland probably releases growth hormones.
I don't even think pituitary gland is in the course btw.

Agreed.

Pineal releases melatonin.
Pituitary releases ACTH, LH, FSH, ADH, oxytocin, TSH etc. Take your pick. By the way, they aren't all released by the same area of the pituitary though.
Yes, growth hormone corresponds with the pituitary gland.
