Post your results here!
Any off-topic discussion other than a "congrats" or a "...and you said you would "only" get an A :P" will be removed (ie. Don't post here until Monday XD) :) Feel free to quote your comparisons with your predictions though :) Any bagging of other users, as per forum rules, will not be tolerated, as well as bragging, that's not on.

Got an A :'(. Level with prediction.
-
Yay - Got an A+!!! Looks like hard work does pay off :) I'm excited, but now I have to study for my methods SAC tomorrow. Does anyone know what the A+ cut off was?
Also, hope everyone's happy with their marks, and if not, remember there's still the exam at the end of the year to make ends meet :D I'm going to try harder than ever now - thanks to people on AN who helped me out with questions and stuff :P
-
i got an A+ too yayyyy :)
so surprised!!
-
I got an A and I'm not too happy because of the work I put in. :'(
-
So annoyed with a B+ - spent the entire week studying for Accounting, and studied the night before for Psych.
Internals are 95%, any idea what kind of study score I can get?
Oh and I was hoping for an A+, fml
-
I predicted an A (and was also thinking I might get a B+) but I ended up with an A+, so I'm really happy and pleasantly surprised. :D I really didn't think I'd make the cut-off; it will be interesting to see the statement of marks.
-
Congratulations everyone! :D
Far out. Our stupid school didn't hand out the y11 results today, but all the year 12s got theirs...
SO THAT MEANS I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER DAY. THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME SO BADLY
-
I didn't get my results either!! Our VASS coordinator is away :(
-
So does anyone have a clue about what the A+ cutoff was?
-
A+ cut off 73/90

Got A+ :') Very happy!
Congrats guys :D

A+ stoked

A+ :D

Got an A+ so so happy. I worked my butt off, started studying 5 weeks before the exam. Can I just suggest to everyone to not look at these forums after any exam at the end of the year. I came out of the psych exam feeling pretty confident, and then out of curiosity had a look at some of these forums as well as the suggested solutions and I felt physically sick. I counted how many marks I thought I had and was pretty sure I had gotten an A/B+. Never thought I would get an A+. I know its my fault for falling to temptation but please don't do it for the end of the year! I feel so silly for stressing :D
-
A+ so happy, really tried my hardest and the work payed of! thank god for checkpoints and the neap lecture. wahooo!
-
A+, the cut off was lower than I expected :)

I did the same not worth all the stress
-
A+, which after all those practice exams is a pretty good feeling :D
Is anyone else ordering their statement of results?
-
A+ soooo happy . thanks atar notes , all the submissions and questions ,really helped.
love you all <3
-
I ordered my Statement of marks last Tuesday it should come soon. :P
-
A+, now i need to see my SOM! :D
-
Congratulations to everyone! I got an A+, I'm so relieved, I must have just got past the cut off. Won't know until my Statement of Marks though...
-
GOT AN A+!!!!!
i was literally expecting no more than a B, so i was absolutely over the moon with that!!
the hard work really does pay off!!
'everything's impossible until it happens.'
-
OMG SOOO HAPPY !!!!! A+ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D goes to show that hard work pays off and that anyone, if they put their mind to it, can achieve anything. FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR UNIT 4 ;)
-
GOT AN A+!!!!!! Only found out today! My teacher was so happy she ran across the school to tell me! I was the only one in my grade to get this mark :D :D Literally thought I would only get a B and I had managed to be ok with that! This was such a shock! I asked if there had been a mistake haha
Feel so proud of myself and all the hard work I did studying while my friends were partying! Let's go Unit 4!
-
Got an A+! So happy/relieved ;D
-
Got an A.
At first I was a bit disappointed (I still am a bit) because I worked super duper hard.
But hey, now I just have to work even HARDER at the end of the year!
-
Got an A. I don't think I deserve it however given that a lot of people put way more effort it in then me. I started doing my notes the weekend before the exam, did 2 prac exams and done all MC for Checkpoints a day before the exam. My method throughout the year for Psychology was simply to try and relate everything to my own experience and understand the concepts.. I guess it worked out pretty well for me instead of just spamming prac exams.. also my school only gave me 1 prac exam and I couldn't really afford to buy any.. I borrowed the checkpoints from my teacher though.
Well done, to everyone. Now I feel much more compelled to put in some effort so I can get that A+ at the end of the year! :D

whose getting a statement of marks?

whose getting a statement of marks?
From what I can tell the majority of the people who are posting in this thread (including myself) are getting one.

My statement of marks came today

My statement of marks came today
How long did that take?

Just got my statement of marks and was wondering if anyone got question 36 on the multiple choice right? I got the same answer as the connect ed suggested solutions (A) and I don't understand why it's wrong (apparently correct answer is B).

Thought the same thing! >:(

I picked A as well. what was the question?

36. In a second experiment the same participants were required to memories a list of 13 names. One hour later the participants were tested and were asked to list the names that they remembered.
In this experiment the rate of forgetting on the test would most likely have been
A. The same as for the nonsense syllables.
B. Slower than for the nonsense syllables.

ah that one! I chose same as, because I remembered in the 2011 midyear, they had an almost identical question and the answer to that was "same rate".
-
I am guessing that names are more meaningful (semantically speaking) than nonsense syllables and thus easier to remember and (possibly) chunk. Especially if one of the names in the list was the name of someone you know for instance. Thus B.
-
But wouldn't that just mean that less was forgotten? It wouldn't change the rate of forgetting.
-
No rate = change in amount remembered over time
As time is same
You can compare qmount remembered straight away
-
But wouldn't that just mean that less was forgotten? It wouldn't change the rate of forgetting.
Yeah I used the same logic, damn.
-

VCAA has said this in the past, and now they decide to change their mind. Right.

Hey guys, I'm Connect Ed's Psych lecturer and the solutions writer, I'll be writing into VCAA to contest this question. I've gotten a question removed from a VCAA Psych exam before that was incorrect, hopefully the same goes for this one! It's generally much harder though to get a question removed this late, but I stand by my decision that the correct answer was A. I'll do whatever I can to get that mark back for you guys! :)

Hey guys, I'm Connect Ed's Psych lecturer and the solutions writer
Slumdawg are you able to send me/email me a copy of the exam?

Hey, sorry I never uploaded it. It should be up on the VCAA website pretty soon though :)

Awesome :) do you think it's worth us writing to them too? Like does it help to have several contesting letters?

I think it'd probably help most if you could get your teacher to complain. VCAA is more likely to take it seriously if teachers rather than students complain, unfair but true.. Thanks for helping out though! :)
-
Hey, just wondering, what marks would you need to get a 48-50?
-
hey, how do you order the statement of marks? im a bit late, but i really want to know where i went wrong?? please help :)

i got this question right but i don't understand how you can see it as being A??
if they are given a list of names (which you can make more meaningful links with when compared to nonsense syllables) the rate of forgetting will be slower because you aren't forgetting them as quick as words which mean nothing to you?
-
VCAA 2010 - 2a:
"Forgetting is most rapid immediately after learning. The type of material learned does not affect the relative rate of
forgetting"

What I learnt regarding the works of Ebbinghaus was that the complexity of the material being learnt and (intelligence of the learner) does not affect the rate of forgetting, meaning that the rate of forgetting isn't the same as the amount of words remembered. SO in other words if you were to graph one's rate of forgetting, the general shape should always be the same.
-
but i don't think you have necessarily learnt the words...
my textbook says that the rate of forgetting for names is lower because you can make meaningful links with names and you're more likely to forget nonsense syllables because they literally mean nothing to you.
i guess i looked at the question that way, as you can make a meaningful link with it which entails you remembering it more than words that mean nothing.
so i guess maybe it depends how you look at it so it is very ambiguous when you look at it that way and other ways...
so i dunno that's just how i interpreted it
-
I did A as well. This is strange.
-
So for some hideously irritating reason VCAA have made it so that every external link to a VCE page on their site redirects to the VCE main page (unless I'm missing something), and I couldn't find the grade distribution for 2012 results under statistics. Does anyone know where to find it?

If I got a B for unit 3, how many marks is it out of 50??
