Title: Changing books for Text Response
Post by: generalkorn12 on August 13, 2012, 05:01:49 pm
Hi,

I'm just wondering, this late into Term 3, the texts that our schools have prescribed for us are admittedly extremely terrible (having read them during the term 1 holidays, and analysed them to death), I'm having doubts on whether I should be using them for the Exams, as both texts have already been analysed by soo many other third-party places, to which my school spoon-fed to the entire year level, which was frustrating for me, having actually analysed them.

So, would it be too late to simply read a completely different book and analyse that for the Exams? (I'm just having doubts about using the texts our school has used, as if my entire year level was spoon-fed the entire metaphors and allegories, then, perhaps, I should pick a book that's more complex and would help me stand out during the exams)

Thanks.  :-\

Not worth it. Will take way too much time. Instead try to find something unique in the text you are studying. Also what is the book?

Just because your teachers spoon-fed the cohort doesn't necessarily mean they're all going to do well :P

Very true . Try harder. Try a different avenue in the text. I'm doing TRF as well, we all have to make do
