Please specify

>Your School (and how well students in your students go in BM if possible)

If anyone goes to Melb High I would appreciate knowing what book your school uses considering Melb High got 13 50's in Bm last year! lol

Also elaine, would be good to know cause u got 50 =)

Our school used the "Pearson Ed" Business Management Textbook, as one of our teachers (not mine) helped write it lol. It was OK, but could slightly vague and not as clear as I had hoped. It was pretty though- lots of pictures :) However, it didn't have many real business examples, so I had to refer to the A+ notes- a lot. I highly recommend you buy that.

Which book are you using?

We are using this text ( I didn't know the name for it LOL)

I think I might buy the A+ notes because sometimes I feel like the text I am using only gives me the skeleton of what to know... not an in depth explanation.
I am worried because I don't want to be too vague.
Thanks Elaine. So Business Management A+ notes is it?

I don't remember what book we used but it was blue and it was written by an old man with grey/white hair (there's a pic of him somewhere in the book). We also had the A+ book, but we were discouraged from using it too much, in fact I don't think I actually read it, although from what I've read, many other people found it useful. As for real business examples, keep an eye out in the news. For some of the social responsibility you can memorise it without trying just cuz the media is like that n all.

Essential Business Management 3/4 - Cambridge University <- Teacher steered clear of using this, and instead photocopied pages from The Leading Edge Business Management and referenced Business Notes
Business Notes - A+ Publishing
Business Management - The Leading Edge

I also used a few Annual Reports for examples of social responsibility.

I did BM.
I go to MHS.
I got 41. In our school, got raped by scaling.

We used

Business Management VCE Units 3 & 4 6th Edition
Steve Barrile

although, I understand it has been updated into a new 7th edition. I'm not sure of the changes.

Odette's BM notes summarise our textbook partly. Meanwhile, I also recommend BM Notes (from A+ publishing). Very useful. Otherwise, that's all we used, but we also got tonnes of handouts and other resources.

Keep up with the news as well, you'll need em for corporate examples in the exam.

Yeah we used the same textbook as kingmar... was alright (new edition coming out next year!!)
I don't think it matters which textbook you use.. essentially they all give you the same information... you should work on examples that's what seperates those who get 40+ from those who get in the 30s or below.

Good luck =)

Just keep your eye out for things that happen in regards to corporations... as they can be used as examples =)

Yep we are using the 7th edition by Steve Barrile.
I personally don't find it to be the best text book I've had for a subject but I guess if I use it in conjunction with the A+ Notes, examples and keep up to date with the news (which I have been doing since I was about 12 LOL) then I should do fine.

I love all of you. You are so helpful LOL

Lol that's got to be the worst textbook, but don't worry it's not that bad, it covers everything you need to know :) (but leaves some minor things out... lol)

That's what the study design is for ;)

Yeh, I printed out a copy of the study design and for each item on the study design, I wrote down the pages in my textbooks that are relevant to that item. When it came time to writing a summary for the area of study, I was able to use the study design to find the relevant textbook pages.
