Title: Ironing
Post by: Surgeon on August 19, 2012, 02:21:26 pm
So I thought I would be an awesome son and iron my pants instead of asking my mum to do it for the millionth time.

Probably should have checked the pockets first...

Didn't know this was in there :(

I think I'll be sure to check the pockets before ironing anything ever again lol.

Second note included for comparative purposes.

LOL. That just made my day.
I've done something similiar, except put my phone in the washing machine (as it was in my pants )and forgot to take it out.....O.o

Least to say, the Nokia survived.

not sure what the point of the thread is - Surgeon casually having $50 in his pocket or a message to say 'check your pocket before ironing'?

I used to always leave tissues in my pockets and it'd make a mess when putting it in the washing machine with other clothes -.-

Yeah, I can't afford to lose $50 so I think I'll take it into a bank and see if they can exchange it. The serial number and stuff is still legible so we'll see what happens haha.

They'll probably take it. They take damaged/cut notes

Does your mum seriously still iron your pants unless you deliberately choose to do so yourself?

There's nothing wrong with that. My mum does everything for me; packs my lunch, gives me lunch money, washes my clothes, drives me to school(I live only a few minutes away) and even cuts the plastic on my chip packets so that i can open it easier lol  8) I guess she still thinks i'm her little boy...

Forever a mummy's boy... And proud of it too 8)

Haha fair enough, I'm the same with most of the above. Except for the chip packets thing...

Same haha, I'm ready to do any chore around the house, but ironing clothes, zomg, now even I find that a challenging task ^-^ They never come out perfect in my hands

Self-ironing machines already :(

Yeah my mummy does everything for me. It's not due to my inability to do anything, but in her eyes, I'm still her little boy. Although I am quite heavy lol.

My mum was going to teach me how to iron, but she forgot I was left-handed and quit in frustration. :P

I try to use Youtube to learn how to tie ties but the whole mirrored thing completely throws me off. So my mum still does that for me too :/

Seeing as we're admitting things here, I used a wikihow article to figure out how to wear a scarf properly :P.

Is it that hard to iron? :\

It's actually not that hard to tie a tie, especially a half-windsor, but it's an important life-skill for a guy :P

@ ppl who cant iron - But ironing is just intuitive!!!!

i have a sad story.
when i was little boy, my dad gave me 100 dollars he had, and id never seen it before.so whilst playing around with it, i put it into my zipped pocked. zipped it.  later on i then unzipped.

it dawned uposuccessfully ripped a 100 dollar note into half..

I don't think ironing is intuitive. There's a right way and every other way and I wouldn't land at the right way without being taught. I don't iron anything for school, but I iron obsessively before I go to a party.
My Mum only cooks dinner and does my lunch. I do my own washing. #THUGLYF

Also, who irons anymore? Seriously I don't iron unless I have computer clients.

I don't even own an iron, I just buy new shirts instead.

That transcends the banality of economics.
