Title: Systems vs Physics
Post by: Conic on September 02, 2012, 06:34:53 pm
Don't know to many people doing systems. How do the electronics components of each differ?

They don't differ at all. System's Electronics is basic Physics Electronics. If you have done Physics Units 1 & 2 well enough, you would cruise through the Systems Electronics. The only thing that I'm aware of that isn't in Physics is "Gates" but I guess, you would expect that.

Well, if it's as easy as Unit 1&2 Physics I guess that's why it scales down so much.

Yeah, in Systems it's mostly about calculating Resistance, Power, Voltage etc. Then you have the mechanical side as well, which calculates only Load, Effort and Ratios but I guess, that's fairly basic as well. The hardest part of Systems is designing circuits (i.e. only if you aren't fimiliar with any of the components and their functions) exclude that and you should be fine.

Also, scoring a 40+ (after scaling) is pretty easy IMO. Considering that you don't stress about this subject at all, unless your product doesn't work... It's one of the best subjects to ace in VCE.
