Title: Twelve angry men or The reluctant fundamentalist?
Post by: vraj120195 on September 10, 2012, 07:19:30 pm
Hey guys
I am an esl student and around average in English.
So I was easily confused on how to choose the right text.
I know the text twelve angry men really well and the reluctant fundamentalist not as well.
so i just wanted to know which text would help me score the most marks in the exam.
Thanks

Do the text you enjoy most. Personally, I could read TAM everyday for a year and still love it, thus I will study TAM leading up to the exam. It also has the benefit of being short/easy to revise for. But yeah, ultimately you should pick the text you would enjoy writing many essays on etc.

I love twelve angry men, i think its the best text you could study( short and to the point)
so i personally leaning towards TAM instead of TRF. but my teacher told me that around 10% of student did TAM and only 1-2% did TRF, so reckons that by doing TRF you would have a higher chance of getting a good score.

Eh, we can worry about stats all we like but regardless of how many people are doing it you'll have a better exam revision time and write a better essay when studying a book you're passionate about. +, who's to say that 1% are doing it because they're extremely good at it? IMO, go with TAM.

I'm also in ESL, but my school only choose TRF, Cosi and The Crucible. Tough choice! :(
