Title: Let me hate on IPL...

The title of this thread says it all.

It's a mix of sport and a rant, so not sure which to put this in.

I wished cricket is like it was in 1996. Just national pride. One-dayers being relatively low-scoring, tense and exciting. Low-scoring test matches too. Although the last series between Sri Lanka and Australia + India was quality (in general) one-day exciting tight cricket. Not this ball bashing IPL T20 bullshit.

Couldn't agree more Thush. International cricket being sidelined for the most over-the-top, ridiculous, ad-infested series... The IPL undermines the spirit of cricket, encouraging players to ignore their national commitments for $$$.
I blame the BCCI. They have a ton of money, but absolutely no idea how to use it to better the game.

This thread makes me think of Lagaan. Now that, is cricket.
