Where could I find information on what sort of scores I'd be looking at to change courses? (within the uni)
eg. comm/science --> comm/law

My gfs mate transferred last semester after 1st yr - his average was 88, but im sure it wont be as high as that.

Just from googling (I can't be sure myself these are the correct pages, but anyway):
At the bottom of this page has links to faculty info:
http://www.adm.monash.edu.au/admissions/undergrad/application/internal-course-transfer.html
look under the "Transfer to law as a Monash undergraduate"
http://www.law.monash.edu.au/future-students/undergraduate/pathways.html#Current
Entry requirements
To be eligible to apply for a Law place you must have:
completed the equivalent of one year (48 credit points) or more of a recognised Monash degree and
achieved a distinction average or better (75%+) across all university units for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), or
achieved a distinction average or better (70%+) across all university units for an international full-fee place.
Entry to law courses is a competitive process and the actual average required depends on the number and standard of applications received each year.
