Title: What is the best way to study for the English exam?
Post by: balkis on October 01, 2012, 05:15:45 pm
Hi all,

I know any one of you have probably answered this question a lot, but i'm stressing out as each day nears till the exam. So far the way i've been studying for this is just to chose different prompts and to write a piece for each. For example, in Identity and Belonging, i'd choose a prompt from Years of Wonder and write a piece for that. Can any of you guys give me a good strategy to use for studying? That would be greatly appreciated!  :)

Thanks in advanced!

Write, get it marked. Repeat.

Read your novel again.
You don't have to spend 3 days reading it over, do it in spaces where you have the time, i.e: That little 30 minute gap which you cant sleep before going to bed, or car/bus rides to school etc.
Year of Wonders is 304 pages and after not reading it in 6 months, I read it in the same way as mentioned, the knowledge you gain from a novel is immense, and coupled with essay writing will not only make you more likely to do well, it will also put your mind at ease knowing you read the book so close to the exam.
