Is the language analysis visual printed in black and white or colour?

Presumably it's the same as what is the case in the exams posted on the VCAA website, which are black and white for Language Analysis.

Actually I think last year's paper had colour. Assuming my memory is not trying to mislead me (spoiler: it was).

It's VCAA so who knows what they'll do?
Just be prepared for anything and if it is grayscale but you are unsure whether it was intentional or not, then don't talk about colour. There are heaps of other elements of a visual to talk about.
Off topic slightly, but I really hope the visual is not a cartoon. ???

In some cases it does matter. For our language analysis SAC this year (regarding same-sex marriage) one of the visual stimuli had a rainbow background, but it was printed in black and white. There was a little blurb put in by the teachers mentioning that the original had this feature but as far as I know I was the only person who actually read that bit and subsequently included it in my analysis.

why does it even matter?
Well colour carries distinct connotations, so if it's black and white i don't need to even consider these

I honestly don't think that it matters, like if there's colour, there's colour, if there's no colour, there's no colour, nobody will really know if there will be colour or not, so be prepared to discuss colour, you don't really lose anything.

Seconded. I never came accross a LA that had colour in all of my practice analyses last year or in the exam obviously. The only possibility is a discussion on the use of light - shades of light/darkness etc. - esp in cartoons - perhaps creating a sense/mood of fear/foreboding or for contrast/emphasis etc.

They aren't going to print off coloured pages for ~41, 000 English students. That's fucked - do you know how expensive that is for them? Just for the sake of some students picking up on the fact that they've utilised colour?
NONE of the VCAA exams have colour AFAIK - if they do need to have colour (i.e. for Geography) then they have separate data booklets which will contain it all.
And last year's was black and white, as was every year before it.
