Title: Primary and secondary cells- how much do we need to know?

I was wondering whether we need to know about the different types primary and secondary cells? for example zinc-carbon dry cell, alkaline cells, button cells etc

I know you don't have to memorise the specific half equations, but you need to have general idea of what is at the cathode/anode and how it all works to produce electricity.
