Hey guys, are you suppose to comment on the format of a text? Is, whether its a website or a journal?

Well, I'd personally mention it at the beginning very briefly, ie.
"David Jones asserts blah blah in his journal titled 'Why I am awesome'"

Yes. Cause it might help explain some of the devices the writer has used.
