Title: Average v Consistency

Okay so I'm considering applying for Philosophy as an Extension Subject for next year.

It requires grades of 'A-A+' in essay writing subjects, but I'm not sure if this means an average, of for us to have consistently scored those marks. In both Literature and English I have an overall A-A+ average in each, but I have received a B and a B+ in Literature out of about 7 assessments so far, and I'm wondering if this will jeopardise my chances of getting in.

Just pointing it out, but you can't really get an A - A+ average unless you consistently get A - A+ in your assessments, or unless somehow your variance is just really really high, but either way, it depends on how strict they are, you never know.

Well I meant the general 'A-A+ average' because I was referring to both subjects, in Literature I have an A average, balanced by the A+s and the Bs.

I suppose it is how strict they are this year, as well as the standard of the other applicants.

Apparently, that's what I used to concern as well. However, the good new is, you only need to get the AVERAGE A/A  in prerequisite subjects and AVERAGE B  in others. I got these information on the Live Chat info of UMEP. Hope this help :)!

Haha, yep, thanks! I actually posted this a year ago - I ended up getting accepted, but turned it down to do MUEP extension instead. :)

I'm doing MUEP History and Politics. It's been a really great year because MUEP does class-based lessons, and it's actually been a lighter workload than my other subjects - and with more enjoyable content.

I was going to do MUEP Philosophy but didn't because of the class locations, so I assume it'd be good. I think you should definitely consider it :)
