Hi everybody,
Sorry that i have already made a subject selection thread already, but i have come down to these two options (different from last thread) and i would really appreciate your advise.
Option 1:
Year 11: Year 12:
Methods 3/4
Further 3/4
English 1/2 -> English 3/4
Religion 1/2 -> Religion 3/4
Chem 1/2 -> Chem 3/4
Biol 1/2 -> Biol 3/4
or,
Option 2:
Year 11: Year 12:
Biol 3/4
Methods 3/4
English 1/2 -> English 3/4
Religion 1/2 -> Religion 3/4
Chem 1/2 -> Chem 3/4
? (PE or Accounting) 1/2 -> Further 3/4
I will definitely drop (PE or Accounting) for further in year 12 though.
Thanks. Advise would be greatly appreciated. :)

IMO option 2 so you don't have the Biol workload during Year 12 which would be significantly more than Further. That being said, you'd still want to do very well in Methods and Bio for it to be worth it.
-
Definitely option 1. There's no point in letting a subject go to waste, especially if you've already planned out what you want your 6 subjects to be.
-
What's going to waste, PE?
-
Both options are quite similar. I don't think there will be much of an impact in terms of your ATAR regardless of which one you pick.
That being said, if you do methods and further in Yr11, you will have no maths in year 12.
Workload in year 12 shouldn't be an issue as you only have 4 subjects.
It is really down to you - best to speak which a teacher who knows you well.

option 2
as brendan said, workload of biol is quite a lot, and doing methods with it would be a perfect start to year 12 if you can get 40+ for both
that being said, i got 42 for further by just studying before sacs, and a month before exams, lol
doesn't require too much effort tbh

Option 2, but swap Methods with Further. :)
-
If you're good enough at Maths, I'd take Option 1. Knock off all your maths in yr11.

Is the fact that next year will be a new study design and exam format for biol, perhaps a reason why i should wait till year 12 (2014) to do biol, and not be the first year doing this?
