As a current year 11 doing a 3/4, how do we receive our study scores? Can we receive text messages even if we are not getting an ATAR? What is the date for this as well? Thanks xx

Same process as Year 12 students. You can log on online to receive them, or get them SMS'd to you. The date is the 17th of December.

Yes, you can either check online at VTAC or sign up for the text message.
Online
resultsandatar.vic.edu.au
7am Monday, 17 December to 12 noon to Monday, 24 December 2012.
(You will probably need your student number and PIN for this too, although not sure cause i used text last year)
Text Message
Register to receive an SMS on the morning that results come out
19 787 888 SMS cost $1.10 max (incl. GST)
To register to get your results by SMS, send a text message as follows:
- Student number – eight digits only, not the letter
- Space
- PIN (four digits) (This should be your birthday by default I think, so 1st of jan would be 0101)
- Send to 19 787 888
You can register from 9 am Monday 12 November until midnight Sunday 16 December. Requests sent after this may be delayed.
You will receive your results at 7 am Monday 17 December
SMS access available until 5pm Friday 21 December

I heard from a friend that the SMS comes out pretty late..it would be faster just to check online :P

SMS can come out earlier! My one came like 8 minutes before 7am :P

It probably depends how quick you register from the opening date. So I'm now going to make sure I do it as quick as possible.

SMS definitely came out earlier for me. Definitely register for it.

The online website also opens up a bit earlier than 7 (i.e. sit there refreshing from 6.30 onwards and wait for it to open up :P). It really depends on how fast you get on and if you can miss the huge rush of people (it got fairly slow later in the day iirc).

You don't have to register Everyone is already registered by default. On the 17th of December you just go onto the site I linked above, then you put in your student number (the number you write on the front of exam papers) which you should be able to get off the school if you don't already know it. And you PIN should be your birthday, so for example if your birthday is the 16th of March then your PIN would be 1603.

Text costs money and VCAA shouldn't get any extra money (at least not until Tasmania Jones dies) so go with online results :)
(pretty sure I slept in by like 30mins on my results day haha - I was rudely woken up by my brother >.>)
-
Btw, you usually get the text AFTER you can check online ;P
But it's a good memorabilia I guess, whenever I'm sad, I open up that VCE text ;)
