I am, but will do so through sigs/IRC so there's no records for people to stalk me in later years hehehe

I shared all my study scores.

Didn't share my individual SAC scores because:
1) I don't think anyone other than me would care
2) It might come off as intimidating if they were good
3) Again, who cares lol

what study scores did you get?

Um, this is random haha, raw scores:

Spesh-40
Methods-46
Eng-44
Bio-42
Chem-42
Physics-41

The reason I don't have them in my sig is because I don't think they have any relevance to what I do now :)

Why are you asking yourself haha...
Title: Re: SHARING SCORES
Post by: Stick on November 12, 2012, 04:43:11 pm
simple YES or NO question.

In my opinion, scores are not something to ever be ashamed of, and by the same token, are not substantial to judge a person upon. I know some people at my school simply don't share results when asked, but I have never really felt uncomfortable sharing any of my results. However, you have to respect other people's decisions if they decide to keep them to themselves.

i never disrespected anyone nor forced anyone to share.
all i said was that im not asking for a real explanation of your opinion on sharing your results

1) Why do you actually care? You will never get anywhere with this question because there will always be a variety of people, those who feel OK sharing and those who don't want to share, you're never going to get any clear answer.

2) Why do you care what ATAR/Study Scores/UMAT Rohit got? I just find it rude to ask without any reason really.

3) Do you really have nothing better to do...?

If you perhaps took the time to read my comment properly, you would have noticed that I am not accusing you of being disrespectful or forcing others to share their results. Also, despite your intentions, this isn't a simple "yes or no" type of question, and if you're not going to accept any sort of discussion over the issue, then this question should have remained unasked (it's not like I wrote an entire essay on it or something - it was only a couple of sentences). Finally, I don't quite know what you're trying to get to here, but I don't think you should be so rude when people have taken a little bit of time to at least ponder your proposal.

I know never to respond to your threads again. I don't think I've ever felt so unwelcome on these forums before.

you really need to know that the conversation b/w me and Rohit was none of your business and nothing for YOU to be offended about. you're just a fed up and stuck up disabled fuck.

he's been banned for being disrespectful, i think that serves as a warning to anyone else who comes here and thinks they can talk crap and get away with it, we're a respectful community who talk to eachother with mutual respect and i think that's how this community should remain!

Had enough popcorn for that. :/

To answer the OP, just to voice my opinion..

I'd share my results provided that I'm proud of them. And I'd be proud of my results if I worked hard and tried my best, I wouldn't be embarrassed at all if they were "low", because I gave it my all and I have an expectation that everyone will respect that.

This year, I didn't take it seriously, didn't try, and was not proud of my results at all, hence I've not disclosed my results openly to many people. I've probably just given a vague "not so well" answer. I don't blame people for asking random people for their scores, it could be just curiosity kicking in. But I do find it a little insensitive. What I loved here was that a lot of people were very considerate in the way they'd approach such a potentially sensitive topic.
They'd simply ask, "how did you go?", there's no concrete answer, but you can hint to them about how you went. It's an open ended question in the sense that you can disclose your results if you'd like (pretty good! I got a 37!), but at the same time, you keep them under wraps..(didn't go as well as I'd like).. But to those people, who persist, "but still, what did you get?" I just answer "low 30's" Not true, but you know I didn't want to talk about...

The other thing I dislike is how people judge others by their study scores... That infuriates me..

(It's early in the morning, I've probably left some things out :))

wow... that escalated quickly... if he only wanted a discussion from Rohit, why didnt he just PM Rohit, instead of making a huge issue out here in public

and i would tell people my scores so long as they ask me... i dont really see the need of publishing my results (not that im going to get a 50/premier award anyways haha)

Nah, wouldn't share scores on this forum (or anywhere else for that matter). I can think of a post that attempted to humiliate someone based on their results recently. Although that problem was rectified, it showed what that person was thinking when they found out about another person's scores on this forum.

Also, I think this thread was quite calm before that series of rhetorical questions that didn't add to this discussion.  :(

srly, dude why are you getting angry at people for saying more than a yes or a no?
This is a community and any thread should benefit everybody rather than just one person, hence even this thread is not just about you and in any way it is not ruled by you.
I reckon this question would be quite interesting for some people of this community. Personally I'd actually like to know why some people who do really amazing hide their scores.

I think it's mostly unnecessary attention.
