Title: Statistics to know
Post by: Nima2703 on November 08, 2012, 03:26:23 pm
Hello I've looked at exams and they ask for what has occurred in the past year recently so I have stats from this year from leading edge and I have a booklet on the budget 2012-13 i think..so the stats from 2011-12 i know are just quarters or something and there are forecasts for goals such as inflation for the whole year of 2011-12 could I use those or should i use the recent quarters like september 2012? also where can i find 2010-11 stats i dont think theyre in economics down under thanks

Stats could be found in the RBA website. Otherwise, have a search on Google. There should plenty in there, dating back to many decades ago.

My post states that I have them but latest stats are for quarters such as sep 12, and the goals other than economic growth have forecasts only for 2011-12 is it okay to use them with 2010-11 to compare because exam questions ask for "the past year" along with past four years.. also does the GFC account for the past four years? I guess it just does.. also does anyone know the unemployment rate for 2010-11 because I can't find it thanks

GFC occured towards the end of '08, which is 4 years ago. The unemployment rate for 2010 was 5.1%, which then rose to 5.3% before ending at 5.2% at the end of 2011.

Have a look on the Trading Economics website for graphs and figures on Australian statistics.

RBA chart pack is also quite good.
