Title: What to do 2 days prior to exam
Post by: Emie on November 12, 2012, 08:28:26 pm
I have 2 days left before my 3/4 (I'm a Year 11) and I feel really prepared. I've done tonnes of practice exams and not really sure what the best use of my time is in the next 48hours.
Obviously, I want to do exceptionally well given its my only Year12 subject.
What would you recommend for me to do in the next few days before my exam?
Thanks xx

You can keep studying or just get rest. Perhaps read over your notes or exams for the next couple of days just to keep it fresh.

Relax! I wish I'd done that in the days before me 3/4 last year, in hindsight, rather than cramming stuff I already knew.

Yeah, keep reading over your notes so that the material doesn't come as a shock to you on exam day (shouldn't happen, given that you're really prepared) and so you don't feel rusty. You know that feeling when your head is clogged after 2 days of doing absolutely nothing related to that subject, and then you have to battle an exam on it...it's not pleasant + you want to avoid the chance of this happening so it doesn't lead to a panic attack during the exam or whatever  :P

Also ask yourself whether you really DO know absolutely everything ~ even the nitty-gritties of the subjects or the uncomfortable areas? I would definitely advise going over these 'sore' spots, as you probably do have weaknesses in the subject - everyone always has a weakness in a subject haha! Doing so will only increase your confidence and get rid of that nagging feeling that you don't know something.

For my psychology and maths exam this year, I was revising until 1.5 hours prior to both exams. Some people took a break for 12 hours prior to the onset of their 3/4 exam - in my opinion, it is good to do so if you're feeling really anxious about the exam. However, if you're like me and have better methods of coping with stress, then why not revise up until the last minute (figuratively talking here lol)? It's not going to do you any harm. Keep in mind though that you shouldn't tackle any practice exams within 6 hours of the final exam, because if you do get something wrong, this will definitely drive you crazy and you won't be able to breathe/sleep whatever...so just keep the revision light 12 hours prior to the actual exam.  :)

Just my 2 cents haha - good luck!!! :D

BLACK OPS 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

....

Anyway, if you have some summarised notes go over them or just read how they structure questions in practice exams and that should help you also. Maybe also try structuring answers/the way you're going to write your answers too?
