I'm just wondering whether it is possible to do well in this subject without doing unit 1/2? I want to do it but I am not sure whether there is anything you learn in unit 1/2 that would be difficult to learn in 3/4...
Thanks

At my school, we only do the 3/4 so obviously everyone who does it, had not completed the 1/2. The course is fairly separate, there isn't much overlap so I wouldn't stress about not having done the 1/2. The main thing that you benefit from with the 1/2 is skills and subject related nuances, however for Global this is fairly easy to pick up.
In short, there's two classes running at my school with people having not done the 1/2. Go for it, you're not alone!

I done 1/2 it was a bludge not very important when moving into 3/4

Everyone who did Global Politics 3/4 this year, including myself, would have had to pick it up, given that it's almost a new subject given the study design change. No one in my class struggled with picking up the course content at all, nor did my teacher struggle to teach it so I'd suggest for this subject at least that you can get away with not have done the 1/2.
Go for it! But make sure you work really hard for this subject, there's a lot of stuff to do.

Yes it has a lot of content but it is interesting so you should pick things up very quickly :)
