What subjects do I choose to major in this field(biomedical engineering)? https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2013/B-BMED
I'm confused as how to complete the required prerequisites when they are not present in the biomedicine degree itself.

The prerequisites listed under "subject options" are level 3 subjects, i.e. subjects you can complete in (normally) 3rd year.
So you would just be given the compulsory biomed subjects at first.
Can anyone else confirm this?

For first semester, you just do the standard subjects they set you. Chemistry, biology, any breadth and a math.
When second semester comes, during the break you will get a chance to choose whether you would like to take the engineering path or not. I think it's online but I'm not completely sure; nonetheless, there is a large window of weeks where you can talk to the people about it and what to do.
So there's no worries from here! This is why biomedicine is described as rigid - you just do the subjects they set you.
This is just from memory, so I cannot guarantee the exactness of the statements I have made.

Instead of taking Physics for Biomedicine and Experimental design and data analysis you will complete Calc 2, Linear Algebra and Engineering system design 2 in first year. Then in second year there are two engineering subjects you will need to do which will form part of your elective subjects and then your major in third year. For First year you could also choose to take Accelerated Maths 1 and Accelerated Maths 2 instead of Calc 2 and Linear algebra. I would suggest the acc 1 and acc 2 if you enjoy maths but would caution you that they are very hard subjects, acc 2 in particularly is a very Pure maths subject, unlike the maths you would have seen up to now.
