As its name suggests, this thread is for (bored) people to post their random questions (and answers). Ask away!

Who thought up the useful and time-saving idea of writing 'mole' as 'mol' in chemistry?
How do people paint such straight lines on roads?
Is it possible to cross a dog and a cat (assuming they don't fight)?
