I am handling my daughter's application as she is overseas.
Daughter wants to do Maths under UMEP. Due to the teachers strike/industrial action my daughter could not provide a complete report with grades for English, Maths and History.
Uni Melbourne wanted a specific letter from the school confirming her grades/abilities by 19/12. I provided the general letter that was given by the school and in addition attached her VCE study scores (50 and 48). For English she received the subject prize - so sent details of this as well. They have refused to accept this and still insist on a letter from the school.
I can only get the letter confirming her abilities/that she meets the requirement (minimum requirement A-) after school opens.
Why is the University refusing to look at her study scores and other evidence of her abilities? Any idea who I can speak to at the Uni in the event her application is declined?

Follow the link below for Contact details for the person directly responsible for UMEP Maths at Melbourne Uni.

In my experience, the University is not in the business of excluding people from the program, and they will probably be sympathetic to your daughter's situation
