Title: When should I come up to Canberra?
Post by: rife168 on January 02, 2013, 06:25:58 pm
O-week starts on the 11th of Feb, just wondering when I should come up to Canberra? I'm guessing the halls would have some kind of restriction on how early you can move in, does anyone know when that would be?
I need to meet with some people at the North Lyneham Kumon centre (for somewhat of a 'job interview') and they need to know when I am going to be in Canberra.
Thanks

I was reading here: http://accom.anu.edu.au/UAS/3019/version/2/part/4/data/2013%20Undergraduate%20Accommodation%20Guide.pdf?branch=main&language=default that the accomodation offer letter will have the dates when you can move in

The move-in dates for the Student Residences in First Semester range from 1 February and continue over two weeks. You will need to refer to your Accommodation Offer Letter for your particular residence contract start date.

Ah, thanks, I must have missed that!
Do you still think you'll be coming to ANU if you get an offer?

Yeah I'll be coming to ANU (hopefully). Might look into off-campus accommodation if on-campus doesn't work out.

Off-campus accommodation is a good option if you think you're able to look after yourself, but overall I believe on campus is more convenient! Good luck with getting a residence offer.

If you can afford it go with on-campus, at least for just the first year. It makes it a lot easier to make friends and get into the way uni works. After that you can grab a couple of friends and move off-campus if you wanted to.
