Hey, so the texts I'm doing for reading and responding are Twelve angry men and The Reluctant Fundamentalist. Which study guide is better; Neap or Insight (or if there's another company, then that too)?? I know it's best to refrain from a studyguide and instead create my own ideas/analysis, but I still want one for some reference and all.
Also, I'm doing Encountering conflict.. Do you think I'm better off buying a general insight/neap/etc. guide that covers all texts? If so, which company is better? OR Should I invest in separate guides for each text? I'm leaning towards a general guide covering all texts, but I'm still unsure
Thanks in advance! :)

York Notes are usually the best. For encountering conflict its far more important to develop your ideas and interpretations-context isn't a 'textbook' style. Read widely-its all about the research and comparison to your text. If you are going to get guides for conflict, get them for the individual text so you will have a much deeper reading of it.
By the way, watch the original twelve angry men film, it's good and very accurate with the play-it will give you a great idea of the personalities of the jurors.

I don't think my books have york notes, which is why I mentioned neap and insight!

This is what i was going to say. For reluctant fundamentalist i had the neap study guide which i found quite good but like when using any guides make sure you develop your own ideas - especially if a lot people in your school is using it.
I also did encountering conflict and i used no study guides at all - its a lot better to develop your own ideas about conflict - causes, consequences and the different types. All the study guides really help with in this area is general understanding of those three areas. I recommend saving your money in this area and just do your own research and watch/read the news for relevant ideas.
