Has anyone on here been through this? I know I'll have to do Linear Algebra in the summer semester but do i have to notify anyone about doing the breadth sequence or by just doing the choosing the subjects + Calc 1 automatically give me access to this engineering stream?
tl;dr do I have to be put into a 'special group of engineers' or is it just by doing the subjects I am involved in the breadth sequence.
Thank you and hope to meet some of the fellow Commercians tomorrow.
Also I'm fuming at the Engineering through Commerce session being placed in the same time slot as the M-Z compulsory session so no info for me :'(

I did ESD1 and there's hardly any maths involved...
Just basic substituting in numbers etc...
there are some derivatives/functions when doing MATLAB; but you already learnt that in maths methods and MATLAB isn't even in the exam...If you get a good group you can just let all the smart guys do all the coding for matlab like i did :P
spesh isn't a pre-req for engineering ,you can just pick it

It is for the math subjects for the stream. So Calculus 1, Calculus 2 and Linear Algebra. I think he's talking about the Engineering Breadth stream.
So yeah you'll have to do Calc 1 during Sem 1, Calc 2 during Sem 2 and like you said Linear in summer. No you won't be in any special group or anything, you just register for the subject in whichever semester and turn up to them, oh and pass :P
