since specialist can now get you entry into science courses, and from bad things i hear about vce physics, i was considering picking up further and dropping physics/chem, i havent always been the "omg study so hard 400000 practice sheets" type of maths person, i usually listen to the teachers, and ask alot of questions, then i try to understand how things work rather than formula memorisation, sometimes i got lazy and wouldnt listen in class and not do so well but when i apply myself i do really well, and thats usually the case, and my vce motivation is through the roof and i dont think im the type to burn out so im looking forward to math, and i genuinely like maths, it is one subject i look forward to every time, i was just wondering if further, methods and specialist is enough to make anyone sick of it all, or if its okay, i know everyones different but opinions are appreciated, any advice is appreciated too, thanks !
Edit: forgot to mention ill drop physics/chem and replace with further

3 maths is never enough.
Refer to sig.

Just looking at your sig, a question of clarification: is this Further to replace the "Chem/Physics" or to make it 6 subjects in year 12?
If so, I would just choose chem and wouldn't worry about having Further in there. 5 subjects is more than enough for most in year 12 :)

You've been listening to the man who posted above me, haven't you? :-[
-
woop shouldve made myself more clear, its now physics/chem/further to make it 5 in year 12, one of those three, methods, spesh, eng lang, and eco

What bad things did you hear about VCE physics? I didn't take it, but the course looks fascinating and everyone I know who took it enjoyed it.
Taking three maths subjects is fine if you like maths, but it places you at a minor disadvantage; I believe that only two of the maths subjects can be placed in your top 4. Hence, I personally recommend you take 2 maths and find another subject.
At the end of the day, though, it's your choice :)
-
it's three much
-
I'd take chem over further or physics, just because:
1) opens more tertiary options (esp health sci)
2) not restricted by the "bottom 2" rule
What bad things did you hear about VCE physics?

yeah i know only 2 maths can count in my top 4 but im not too worried about that yet, should i be? LOL
and yeah the only reason chems an option there is because it opens up more course options but im terrible at it

Well, I wouldn't want to spend too much time on a subject that could only count for a max of 5.0. Knowing me, I'd slack off on one of the maths just because of this.
But you're not me of course :P

What they get in reality: 300kg cyclists
I don't see a problem here. If it works as a TV trope, it'll work for the physics curriculum.
-
I honestly wouldn't replace physics/chemistry with further. Compared to those two science subjects, it's useless in gaining entry to uni courses and if your decent in math, it will most probably end up in your bottom two anyway (spesh scales by 12 and methods by 6 while further scales down.
-
You're year eleven so you must do six subjects just try them all except for physics which you can easily pick up physics and fast track further proble, solved.
-
Ohh you're doing psych problem unsolved.
Chem>further more courses for Chen especially medicine.
-
I would not drop chemistry or physics as they are necessary for admission into many courses, chemistry especially.
-
If you did both chem and physics in year 11 you should be able to decide whether you want to continue with one of them or drop it for further. You wouldn't be disadvantaged in Further because of GMA/Methods, and you would have enough experience in chem and physics to make a decision.
-
The only thing I can really say is: if you like maths, then doing all three of them won't bore you... but on the other hand, it's probably better to do chem or something; if I could pick my subjects again I would have done chem or physics over further
