Title: Question about auditory perception

Are sounds received by your right ear crossed over so that they're processed in the left hemisphere and vice versa, or does sound from the right ear simply go to the right temporal lobe?

I assumed there wouldn't be any crossover for some reason, and apparently that's an incorrect assumption. But I don't really understand how it CAN cross over... can anyone shed some light on this?

Yer, according to a prac exam i did they said that like most other sensations from the body (like touch from the right hand crossing to the left hemisphere) it crosses over... but I also assumed it didn't for some reason... :)

Thats a good question !!. I have no idea either.

But I just did a question on a prac exam, about right ear processing music... and left ear processing language.
and that's what it stated..
