Title: Subject Selection
Post by: albert on January 25, 2013, 02:00:16 pm
Hi there

i am currently enrolled in arts with the intention of transferring across to science for the second semester so that i can major in human structure and function

what subjects should i choose for my first semester in arts?

I currently have power, from graffiti to terrorism, biology of cells and organisms (breadth) and introduction to mathematics (i did not do methods 3/4 in year 12)

I would also like to do fundamentals of chemistry however i'm not sure if it is possible to complete 3 breadths in 1 semester

Any help would be appreciated, cheers :)

Ideally three breadth subjects would be best, except I don't think you can do that all in one semester.. (check in case though)

You need fundamentals to progress to chem 1 normally. You can get into chem 2 if you do well in the exam (i.e. H1). Most second year subjects pertaining to life sciences require the first year bio units and first year chem units.

If you can only do two breadth subjects, i'd say drop biology of cells and organisms. You can do that the year after in semester 1, and do anatomy and all that stuff next year for second semester provided you take genetics and the evolution of life for your first semester of science (semester 2- 2013)
