So I have Sony vaio that I bought last year. I was playing nfs the run today. I couldn't turn the corner and got angry...So I punched really hard at the keyboard..and I regret my action now :( any suggestions for a laptop? I have narrow budget....and also considering buying a tablet (not ipad)

i recommend going to officeworks and picking out a laptop from there, because the prices are typically quite affordable . also, its important to tell us what you use your laptop for, so that we can help suggest you a product that'll fulfil your requirements. For instance, a gaming laptop will have a starkly different set of criteria to a machine that is going to mainly be dedicated to scholastic pursuit.

Road rage? :P
What do you need the laptop for? Uni? Need power for games etc? There's a few threads that discuss purchasing new laptops so have a read of those, but if you want more specific advice for yourself then you're best to state what your needs are and budget.

And while you're at it, invest on in external keyboard :P

I was using external keyboard...imagine how angry I was that I punched my laptop...I'm gonna use my laptop for multiple purposes..games, uni etc. but I think no laptop is as efficient as a desktop pc for gaming..so I might buy an average tablet and a desktop...my budget is around 1000$

Have a play around with laptops at centrecom then go online to search the best deal for a model.
1k can get a pretty good laptop these days

What's the best laptop I can get for $500? This is purely for scholastic purposes, not gaming.

I actually saw this at JB the other day, seems like a decent approach if you're going to be using windows 8 preloaded on a new laptop

There's a Nexus 7 16GB at MLN on sale. It's a pretty good deal.

Might just be the hard disk then?
This is usually the case.
@forgottenC, can you tell us exactly what happens when you try to boot your laptop? there's a chance that it's not completely dead.

I think this might be the case.. I was using arrows and that's where I did damage..right where the hard disk is at...I'm gonna re install windows to an 8 gb flash disk if possible..if it does run..the hard disk is damaged for sure

Please don't punch your laptop next time.
