Post by: TMJ on February 05, 2013, 08:33:22 pm
What is the average year 11 english essay like? especially length wise as I'm a person that hates english and am average at it. My teacher, who is vary vague, says it will be an massive jump from year 10 into year11.

I think it was either 600-800 words or 800-1000 words, my memory is fuzzy. As a general rule take however much you had to write this year and add 200 words to it.

Around 1,000 words, give our take. Depending on how big your writing is it's roughly between 2-4 pages.

I'd say a minimum of 800 words. If you prepare yourself properly and know your content, it shouldn't be difficult to write an essay with that particular word limit.

Well, my teachers said 600 words but in Unit 2 I felt as if my SAC's were 800 words which felt about right. You should be aiming for 800-1000 since in Year 12 most schools expect 800-1000 words per essay.

Also, year 11 English isnt too hard. I'm not that good at it and was averaging B and B+
