Good luck, is anyone else actually doing it as a subject?
-
Yep, how'd you go
-
Don't think I did too badly. Kind of hard to know with so many 3-4 mark questions but answered everything so that's a nice start, you?
-
i got the hydropower question wrong!! :(
-
which hydroelectric question was that? there were quite a few multis on it

Yea I found it ok - the last question about the fencing off the cattle from the grass thingo sort of caught me off guard a bit, had to crap on a bit there but it was quality 'enviro crap' using all the terminology and examiners love that stuff. Should get me a few marks.
But your right, its hard to tell.
What did you guys get for the natural gas multiple choice
The one about "where should the plant be located" or something - it had to do with pipes
I put "The plant should be located right next to the gas source" as did a few others... but others have put "The plant should be located near Melbourne"
-
i chose C for the natural gas question, apparently it was between C and D..
-
The hydropower one, q9, about whether it is low efficiency etc.... i said high sustainability because water is used for irrigation... which is wrong...
oh yeah. that natural gas one where it should be located,,, i had to use process of elimination...
the multiple choice was a lot worse than other years i thought!!!

What option was C?
-
I chose the one nearest to Melbourne because of power line losses being greater than gas losses in the pipe or whatever it was. Last question was just annoying thankfully I'm used to experimental design style questions from bio practice exam questions. I said hydropower is sustainable because of use in irrigation, oh well

I can't exactly remember what I put but I'm pretty sure for that question (Why isn't hydropower used more widely), I put that there isnt enough water in general

Ahhh, I was tossing up between that and another - Chose the other :(
-
option c was something like the gas loses energy while traveling through the pipes..
and for the hydropower i chose that it was sustainable because of the use in irrigation.
did anyone else not finish it? i left a 2 mark question because i ran out of time!

Enviro exams are usually long - I looked up and saw there was 20 minutes to go so I started rushing - I just finished...
-
actually i think im confusing myself with the hydropower question..
if its the question that asked something about SA (out of memory:S) i just said it circled that it couldnt be sustained due to lack of water.
-
i was on the Flora and Fauna question and i only had 15 minutes, and completely started rushing..
i feel really sorry for my examiner, my hand writing at the end was horrible!
-
Did any of you guys go to the MGS lecture thing with Danny McCoppin the presenter
-
i didn't, but heard it was really good:)
p.s..if anyone could upload the exam with solutions i would ENVYYYYY you:D
(even though we only did it a couple of hours ago!)

Didn't go to the one in the city but attended one he ran as part of the VCAA bushfire affected area revision lectures.
-
yeah i did the same for the lack or water one, lack of water to sustain itself for the region.
Has anyone ever heard of Jaccard's Index before?! I was so scared and annoyed when I saw it lol.
-
yeah i went to the lecture at Melbourne Grammar with Danny McCoppin! I'm so glad i went lol
-
LOL this has a midyear?
-
LOL this has a midyear?
No it doesn't. Everyone here is just doing some sort of role playing exercise on the internet, talking about a random exam which doesn't exist - cause we have no life.
Oh and ignore the fact that this is in a Board which links from "Mid-year exams discussion" - the mods are on crack

Its been mentioned in atleast 3 or 4 practise exams lol
They often make up indexes aswell
