Serious, I find it quite strange monash still charges $70 a month to STUDENTS of the university, I was paying nothing for my school gym at VCE... I can understand that due to the immense population of students at monash such prices must be made, however $70 just seems like a lot to a let's say a first or second year student.
To be honest ALL you need to get an effective workout IS:
- An adjustable bench
- Dumbbells
- Squat/Power Rack with barbells and a chin-up bar associated with the rack. + weights for barbell
- A soft mat for abs/core
That's it... I really don't want to pay for machines and shit, it's all useless, if I wanted to walk or run I'd go outside..
Here's my question, does anyone know of any empty/useless area or room at monash where someone could dump such items above and legit just have an amazing work out? Any place at monash clayton where the room is abandoned?

The campus is huge and if we (or just me) can create a "fight club" so to speak that would be hectic, thanks for reading brahs.
edit: If I have to resort to paying then I will, but I thought it was worth a shot to ask on this website since most people here are knowledgeable about the area.
It's $28 per fortnight - so more like $60 per month. Not too bad for a gym.

Holy shit, an abandoned room with weights would be fucking incredible o.O
-
im unaware of any such places in australia, but it does sound like fun :)

not all of us were spoilt enough to have a gym in our high school.
-
You were allowed to use the gym during VCE?
At my school, we can rarely use the gym, not that I do, but they never open the gates.
$60 a month is reasonable (quoting from TRex).

How is that spoilt? Heaps of schools have gyms... Govt and private alike.

i.e. the rich schools for the spoilt kids.

I'm sorry, but your parochial statement just angers me. Not only does it deviate from what dzzhao is trying to ask, but it implies that all kids who go to private schools are spoilt. I regard this as an erroneous insult against myself, and others who also go to private schools.
Just because some people who go to private schools have access to a gym does not mean that they are automatically spoilt. And if they do have a gym, why not make use of it? They pay more money to get access to these resources.
What right do you have to make such a provocative statement?

With going to a school with a gym...
I go to a school where only half of the student would actually pay the school fee (the rest just rely on the government) and it has a small gym hidden in a shed in the back. It got the oldest looking equipment, no electrical powered machines and barely any students uses it. It is adequate enough to serve its purpose and is just what Pi described/ want.

Ah that's not true at all, most schools have gyms because of their sports programs.

Consider yourself spoilt if you're fortunate enough to actually get an education. :)
