If a x4 magnification is used, is the image 4 times larger or 40 times larger due to the ocular lens being x10 magnification.
-
40x is correct.
To identify the level of magnification, simply multiply the magnification levels of the two (if applicable) lenses.

You don't need to know this...

You don't need to know this...
we have to do similar things for our sacs
-
We looked at magnification for like 10 minutes in unit 1 and I never saw it again until today, haha

Pi its because my class did a prac and we used a microscope just to jog our memories of microscopes for those who didn't really pay attention in unit 1. I'm aware of the fact that you don't need it, it was just for that exercise I needed it :)

For my school when i did bio; because it was in unit 1, it was assumed knowledge. So during our 3/4SACs that required microscopes, our school would throw the questions in to see who remembered seperating the students i spose

I sure hope I don't get any of that.
I totally forgot which microscopes can see organelles well.
-
Haha yeah fingers crossed. Our school never did that, just the magnifications
-
Devise a list of organelles and structures only seen with electron microscopes and try to memorise them.
