Alright who did todays 131 exam? I thought it was so much harder than last years - there were 2 essays which weren't too bad. But the motion questions were rather hard and time consuming :tickedoff:
It was so hard that I actually laughed during the exam lol

:(

=(
i was crushed. and it made it worse that the reb is a FREEZER....and mixed with panic and the sound of rain that seemed to pummel your already taxed brain i was relieved when they said "pens down".

...you do essays in uni physix?
-
essays =\
-
well for the engineering exam we have to write 4 essays and answer 2 problem-solving-like questions

Essays in Physics??! WTF....

Heh. Writing essays in that exam was what probably helped me pass ESD1 last year. :D :D :D
YAY for the essays!
-
omg... essays. I had no idea.
-
We never had essays in first-year physics at Monash! But we do have one in second year, but we're given the topic beforehand so yeah... and it's only worth 1/6 of the exam. The rest is ALL calculation and stuff :D
-
They were 10 mark questions, that required written explanation, essay type. I swear the lecturer said 1 of them but there were 2 :s
Would there be any scaling if the number of people getting H1 is lower relative to previous years?
-
uummm
is this
physics 640131??
Do you have to write ESSAYS? wtf

yep

640-111 exam was typical, there were the usual few impossible questions but apart from that was reasonable. go physics ADVANCED!

yeah im pretty sure we were told ONE essay queston. but oh wells. as for the H1 scaling, i heard that the pass mark is allocated according to the average mark the whole cohort gets , but not sure about the H1s and stuff specifically. I would assume so though...
-
Expect mega scaling for physics :P
-
Im so stoned after that lol
Didn't study at all for optical instruments so I got screwed on the double slit question.
Also screwed for the relativity question even though I studied a bit (because relativity makes my head hurt).
Did alright with the rest I thought...
Lol @ Tarzan... good thing George Clooney was there to rescue him from the crocodiles ;p

You do advanced too? Advanced was still very, very, very hard (that question referring to the signal being emitted really got me!).
Hah but no essays now that was a real plus! I checked quantum mechanics advanced exam though and there is essay questions.
Doing advanced next semester?
