Title: Expansion of vocab.
Post by: Billion on April 29, 2013, 05:06:34 pm
Hey all,
This may be an unusual request, but I've been wondering if there's a list of words that I can memorize and expand my vocabulary on, specifically to do with year 12 English.
I've heard about sites that generate a "word of the day" for you, however a lot of the words aren't necessary for year 12 English, let alone a normal conversation/essay.
I'm not sure if there's such a thing of what I'm requesting, but it's pretty much anything that I can get my hands on that can help me use more sophisticated words - yet words that I'd actually find relevant to what is needed in English.
It can be descriptive words to help paint the picture of what I'm trying to say, or to convey what I'm trying to say more clearly.
If anyone knows of anything of the sort, please let me know, thanks!

I'd say just reading in general is the best way to expand your vocab
