So, what's everyone's plan these holidays to fully maximise the break?
For those high achievers out there, how many hours of work a day are you planning on doing?
-
For me, just planning on "how many hours I should study" wasn't very effective. What's important is WHAT you do in those hours. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that you'll get greater productivity with longer hours of study.
-
As I keep saying, if you have to count the hours then you're doing it wrong.
Look at your schedule for next semester. Read the relevant sections of the study design for each subject. Understand what you are required to learn. Perhaps ask yourself if there's anything you need to revise from semester 1. Yes that's right. Revision shouldn't be left until swotvac before exams in November. The more revision you do in the lead-up to the exam, the less you need to cram.

I made a checklist of all the things I have to do, and would like to do if I get the time to do it. More importantly, I've come up with a priority system that ensures that I complete what I have to and lets me omit some of the "less important" stuff if I feel I need to take a break.
I've attached my checklist in case others find it useful. :)

With Shenz0r on this, not by hours for me either.
I had a pile of stuff on my desk I wanted done, so I got to it :P (note that I didn't do much for term 2 break, not needed for a 99+ ATAR imo)

Thanks for the checklist, I used it as a template for my own lol

I'm glad it helped! :)

Well, probably not a 'high achiever', but I decided to be a bit relaxed on Term Two holidays. I knew that it was my last real chance to take a proper break, and thought it was best to take that break.
I can't actually remember what I did, so it musn't have been much. I think I read over the novel I was studying in Unit 4, as well as the play I'd studied in Unit 3, and finished the first outcome for Psychology Unit 4 and that's probably about it.

Don't worrkkkk on this holiday seriously.
I agree with Pi, not needed for 99+ atar.
-
But I've been given so much work to do :(
I'm not going to pass up any opportunity to relax though. I'm currently getting my social calendar all lined up, I have a million books to read...these holidays are going to be great. :)

If you have homework that's different I just wouldn't advise extending the workload willingly.
