I am a bit confused which one to say at different times

Glucose = simple carbohydrate (monosaccharide made up of one sugar unit).

Glycogen = complex carbohydrate (a polysaccharide which is made of many repeating glucose sub-units).

thanks I do understand what they mean

just in PHYsical education

the fuel source for the contributions of the energy systems is referred in different forms of the carbohydrates
so I am confused on which one to use not what they mean (I already know this !)

Wouldn't it be glucose, the intermediate source of energy? I'd say glucose, and then glycogen being reserves of energy storage, which can be broken down to glucose if necessary!

Don't worry about mentioning glucose - you will never have to.

Most practice exams and questions use carbohydrates/glycogen interchangeably but there are certain times when to use them.
If the question is talking about food SOURCE then you would say carbohydrates.
If the question asks about food FUEL then you would say glycogen.

If the quetion doesnt say source or fuel either one should be ok. VCAA like to trick people with this kind of question.

Make sense? :)
