hi hi :)
The umep board isn't very active.. so I'll reply even tho I'm doing maths (do maths, its better ;))
My mate doing eco (there are only two) said that there are 8 ppl doing uni accounting this year. I don't think there is a "maximum" number of selections, pretty much everyone who meets the requirements for a subject gets in.
I think most people who apply do meet the requirements, so probably around 8-10 ppl would have applied for it (allowing for some ppl who might have dropped out). But you're right, I don't think anyone on AN knows the exact answer :P
Secondly... Uni accounting like all umep subject uses uni textbooks haha, not vce ones. But not sure 100% if you are asking about the textbook they used in yr11/12 and if this is your question you'll have to ask someone else :)
Lastly, if you have anymore specific qs, pm abcdqd or abcdqdxD (yes, similar names i know HAHA)
They're the only ones I've seen on AN that do umep acc, so they might be able to help more :) And I'm sure both will be willing to help :D

Hi, from what i've noticed from asking other UMEP students there is no maximum to the amount of UMEP students, but you will need to get at least 40 raw for the prerequisite subject
so for umep accounting, youll need 40 raw or higher to get in, but i know of 1 student currently in umep accounting, who is currently also doing vce accounting, and did further last year, however; he did score over 40 raw for further.

^ and that's the mate I mentioned before :P
HI P.taaa, didn't know you had a AN profile :) (he's the one doing eco)

Is it really a requisite to get a 40? I don't think it is :S. There are peopole on the forums doing a uni subject and a 3/4 subject in the same field at the same time, isn't there? And a friend of mine did UMEP Acc after getting a 36 or something like that, as far as I know. I guess I could be wrong though.
Edit: Just saw this was in the Melb board, I think my friend did it at Monash. Could explain the difference.

Minimum for Accounting is 38. That is, if you get under it you won't be considered at all.
Requirements vary across different subjects and unis.
40+ should guarantee a spot at Melbourne in acc

Thankyou all! :D
One other question, heard theres a cost to it, anyone know how much?

I can't speak for UMEP accounting, but for MUEP (which is essentially the same thing) there are around 15 students. I remember when signing up reading that you need 41+ but I know there are both students who got lower than 41 as well as students who are currently studying VCE accounting whilst participating in MUEP.
It costs $450 per unit to do it at Monash (so $900 for the entire program), and on top of that you need to purchase the required textbooks which would be another $100 per unit. Does anyone know if the Melbourne program is actually free?

At the melb uni open day Umep info session the ppl specifically said Umep programs are free.
And as Alwin posted the website does aswell. :)
