Has anyone been to one of the Media lectures? My teacher told me to go to the metro magazine one at Vitcoria University:

But I have also heard of the Engage lecture:

Is there one that anybody recommends or is going to?

I didn't go to any but out of the two companies which you listed, I would suggest ATOM as it is the one which most Media teachers are subscribed to (and I could have sworn that some of my sacs were based on their packs from the paid section of their website).
If it's media influence which you're having the most trouble with, Brett Lamb is an absolute champion.

The Leading Edge study guide book also has exam-type questions which are helpful. I don't believe that lectures would be too beneficial to be honest. Different texts get studied so the lectures would be very broad and may not cover what you want to hear or know more about. Best to just get to know your texts very well instead.

I went to ATOM last year, very good lectures and well priced. Fantastic lecture theatre too, at VU.
Engage also run lectures for Media, though I'm not sure how good they are.
This is another fantastic resource for VCE Media: http://lessonbucket.com/ Almost makes teachers redundant haha. Brett Lamb is indeed a legend.

I ended up going to the ATOM lecture today and I thought it was definitely worth my time.
There was information that I was sure my teacher didn't teach us.
It is a relaxed environment and they crammed the years course into 3 hours.
It obviously had to be broad as not everyone is doing the same texts...Duh but the notes they wrote were perfect to help me brush up on topics which have escaped my memory.
I would highly recommend going along with a couple of friends even if you think you are on track for full marks on the exam.
