I'm thinking about doing MUEP Chemistry (or MUEP Maths or 12 physics) next year and I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it? (in terms of difficulty, workload, interest-factor, etc).
Cheers.

from what i've heard VCE chemistry is hard enough

MUEP chemistry needs more commitment than MUEP maths because you have to do pracs/lab work and as a result have to go the place more than once a week and produce prac reports as well as assignments(im not sure about assignments), Also only some of the stuff is similar to VCE chem and it might be hard to learn new concepts, also the structure is not like VCE chem where you do analytical chem/biochem in Unit 3 and industrial chem in unit 4, Monash is more of a mixture with other stuff to. But if you are interested then go ahead, i dont do muep chem but ive heard its quite a handful.
However, for MUEP maths you only have to go once a week, (5 or 6 for the whole year) assignments is the only homework you have to do.
semester one is heavily based on VCE methods/spesh. Semester 2 little less emphasis and you learn new things. Its not as time consuming as MUEP chem (i do MUEP Maths), Personally i dont really enjoy it, im more of a chem person however my school spesh/meths teacher offered to help me whenever i needed it so yea.
Physics . . . this just depends on you, if you find physics hard this year then i heard year 12 physics is easier compared to year 12 chem. Physics is like a math subject workload you just have to constantly practice, and you got lessons more often since it is at school, compared to the MUEP subjects which are once a week with the exception of chem. (i chose to do MUEP maths instead of physics coz of free period awesomeness)

Hmm... I guess I might just have to choose between MUEP Maths and Physics.
Cheers for the info.

How does MUEP chemistry compare to UMEP physics?

How does MUEP chemistry compare to UMEP physics?
in what way you mean? difficulty? relevance to vce? work load?
anyways i think MUEP chem and UMEP physics is not worth doing unless you are really interested in it and are excelling in the VCE counterparts of those subjects.

I'm fascinated by both subjects, so I think that I'd enjoy studying either. I'm primarily concerned about the workload, standard of the cohort, difficulty and creativity of the courses though. Can anyone help me?

im not a 100% sure about this but like i think MUEP chemistry needs more commitment because of the lab work you have to attend while UMEP physics i have no idea :-\ Also UMEP physics = free, MUEP Chem = $900 altogether. Workload i think they maybe around the same however i think MUEP chem you might get a bit more because of prac reports. Also Cohort depends every year since every year there is a new set of students. Difficulty depends on you on how you handle the subjecst unfortunately MUEP chem is probably has more common ground to the old VCE chem study design than the new one, whereas UMEP physics i have no idea. Creativity i have no idea what you want with that, i guess you mean interests? Im guessing MUEP chem might be more creative with the pracs/assignments.
Hope this helps! I dont know much about UMEP physics...might need to ask someone who actually does UMEP physics to help out with that part....Anyone on the forum do UMEP physics or UoM physics if it is similar?
