Title: % of students in a study to achieve perfect 50?

just wondering what percentage of students get a perfect 50. ???

Remembering that a "perfect 50" could be anything from 49.5 to 50.0 since study scores are reported as rounded numbers. That's why some 50s are not as big as others.

is it true that the person who scores the highest for the exam eg. 97% would be the new 100%... if you know whaty i mean and that the highest study scorre saying eg. 47 would be the new 50 study score and every1 gets scaled accordingly to that.

It's all relative, your raw marks make very little difference it is all a mathematical process involving standard deviations of the mean exam scores.

it's most likely to be 0.2% but it does vary year to year and subject to subject

I have done some work on working this out myself, and have come up with a formaula that gives a rough estiamation of the number of sutdents that acheive a study score of 50. If you did Methods, you can use the Normal Distribution technique to work it out more presicely, but the this formala I have developed workes pretty well.

Students with a 50 SS= (Number of students doing the subject/1000)X2

As an example, If I use 2008 Further Maths and 2008 English as examples, it shows that it is pretty good. I got these statistics from my teachers so blame them if Im very wrong.

FURTHER MATHEMATICS
Students with a 50 SS= (24000/1000)X2
Students with a 50 SS= (24)X2
Students with a 50 SS= 48
The actual Number of students to obtain a study score of 50 was 49 or 50.

ENGLISH
Students with a 50 SS= (44000/1000)X2
Students with a 50 SS= (44)X2
Students with a 50 SS= 88
The actual Number of students to obtain a study score of 50 was about 90-95.
It's not totally accurate, but is is an easy formula to use in your head.

.2% of that = 94.8 (95 ppl getting 50 probs)

oh wow thats not much. but then again you can't have a lot of ppl getting 50's.
but you can't say that a 50 in furhter is the same as a 50 in methods...
