Title: ATAR and Study Score predictions 2013 -> Compare to results on the 16th :D

Hey everyone!

Following on from last years thread (ATAR & Study Score Predictions 2012 - Compare to actual on 17th!), as VCE exams are now over, you're able to predict your own study scores/ ATAR on this thread then compare your estimates to those received on results day :)

AND CAN NOW DEFINITELY SAY WITH 100% CONFIDENCE I WILL NOT GET 99.95 :D :D :D
made wayyy to many stupid mistakes on the exams

2012
Methods -- 48 [49.2]
Physics ---- 49 [49.4]   ikr, still doesn't round up to 50 :P

2013
English ---- 40  if lucky
Spesh ----- 45  at best
Chem ------ 45  at best
Indo ------- 30  if lucky
UMEP ------ 4.5  if lucky
MUEP ------ 0.0  didn't count anyways :P

All up comes to a grand total of just 99.65 .... again if lucky :P

Music Performance: around 30

Not expecting to get over a 35 but as long as its 25 or higher I'm happy. Hopefully next year I will get an ATAR of at least 85.00, 90.00 would be even better though.

Physics - 50 (pretty confident, loved the subject to death, had a killer cheat-sheet with that sparkly stuff from art class stuck on)

MUEP Magic, Science and Religion - 5.0 (watched all 8 Harry Potter films the day before, I've got this)

I hate how hard it is to predict stuff, especially for subjects like english (and software) but for maths/science too, like I THINK I only lost 1 mark in physics, so a possible 50 (omg that would be amazing), but then I could have lost a heap of random marks in worded answers somewhere that will just depend on the assessor and whatever wording I used on the day. Maths is the same, I can count the number of answers I got right but no idea about the working marks. The worst part is that there's nothing to do about it except wait, but at least it's not too long now.

Glad I got all that out, my prediction for comparison is this;

Software: 40+
English: 41 pleeeeaaaase?
+39 in Legal 2012 --> 99.25ish

FUN FACT: you can enter physics in the atarcalc by typing 'sics', hashtag efficiency

I don't think I deserve any higher than this considering how good year 12 was for me. Prior to exam prep I probably did about 20 hours study (entirely for global politics). The rest was writing essays for english or designing things for folios, which I completely enjoyed. Those subjects are rightfully scaled down :P. Pity I gave up on bio, but it did make life a lot easier.

With a track record of a 50 in methods and a 45 in Chinese, I find it hard to believe that you aren't careful in exams nliu  :P

It's hard to summarise how I feel about these scores.
Start of the year I wanted a 85+, but I ran into a lot of shit this year.
But at the same time I will feel proud of myself with these scores, considering I studied for 10 hours all up. Call me slack and stupid but I thought it was a good way to test my raw knowledge from the year. (gotta change this stance for uni)

I know the feeling... I went to the Frankston TAFE this year too and it was so different to my last school. Only having one lesson of class a week and having the class so short made it difficult to keep up with the rest of the state. They told us each class would go for 4 hours, but in actuality it went for about 2-3 hours, minus a 30 minute break in the middle. And we rarely got homework or extra study resources, so that's why a lot of the top students fell behind towards the end of the year. Even I felt like I didn't do anywhere near as much study this year as I did for my subjects last year, such as Philosophy.

Having said that, I was surprised that the teaching quality at TAFE was actually pretty high. My English teacher was one of the best English/literature teachers I've ever had, and I heard positive reviews about other teachers too, such as the chemistry teacher. It's a shame he had to spend so long asking people to put their phones away and stop checking Facebook whilst he was trying to teach.

Just out of curiosity, were you in my English class with the teacher we all called Bill?

Maybe I was a little harsh with the Art prediction but you can never be too  conservative in your estimates. There is nothing I like more than being able to accurately predict my own score despite multiple factors completely outside of my control. ;)

Slightly lower than predicted.
I predicted a 30 in English and 90 ATAR.
Got a 28 in English and 88.50 ATAR.

But I'm still very happy with my score :) I got into my course so that's all that matters.
