Hi everybody!
Hope everyone is enjoying themselves. I have a special exam on xmas eve and for esd 2 and was wondering if anyone had a copy of the 2013 exam or if not details on what questions were on the digital and mechanics sections!
Thanks so much!

Digital systems I recall being very similar to past exams so if you do all of those you should be fine. I don't even remember what the main question/s were which means I found it straightforward.
Mechanics was a little harder than the past exams but the same theory and question structure applied - it was just a little more confusing. There was a truss/joints question (but the truss was a bit more complex than any questions in past exams) and the projectile question was pretty similar to past exams (deriving governing equations of motion etc).
There was some sneakiness/difficulty in the programming section and one part was a lot harder than previous exams, but previous exams were stupidly easy for programming so I guess upping the ante was to be expected.

Digital systems I remember one question was on the Hamming Code almost identical to all the Hamming questions in past exams.

Was it the 5 bit hamming distance? Like working out how much 2 bits differ by?
I've heard that the mechanics was a fair bit harder this year!
Thanks for your help guys

It was, I think, working out what the transmitted code should be... Like where was the error and what should it have been. There was another one that involved drawing a logic circuit using...umm full adders maybe??? Sorry it was kinda easy so therefore in memorable...

The big Programming question was to find the REPEATED integers in a given array.
Note that this is slightly different to the past paper, which was to remove any repetitions of integers in a given array.

Similar question but the slight variation actually made it way harder to program (I thought anyway).

LOL awks man, i misread the question and thought it was the exact same question as the last paper. rofl :'D
