I desperately want a 50 (after scaling) for specialist maths. Is getting a 38 (raw) really hard? Any tips on how to do so? Thanks :)

definitely not too hard at all :) you will find that specialist exams seems to be getting easier and easier, which means that if you want to do well, you need to be able to eliminate all your careless/stupid mistakes. that's pretty much what all VCE maths is about. you first need to learn all the content for each of the topics and then apply them to different types of questions from the textbook or practice exams. whilst doing that, you need to learn how to eliminate all your stupid errors as that is where most people lose their marks. and yeah, once you finish the course, hit the practice exams hard and do as many as possible :)

Just wondering, how many practice exams did you do for your score?
Thanks!
