Hey Guys,
I just received my mark for my latest SAC and i lost 1.5 marks (38.5/40). When i went to find it from my teacher, he mentioned that i was the highest, i think maybe equal highest, he said it in like 2 seconds, so I'm not definite for sure, but i was up there.
Past students/ current students, how many marks did you lose in U3/U4 or on you AOS1,AOS2 etc SACs, is their a threshold, i.e. stay about 96/100 on U3 etc. Im afraid my chance of a 50 is gone now :(

What company QUAT?

It's hard to tell just by looking at SAC marks. SACs are subject to statistical moderation so they could get scaled up or down.
I can assure you that you are still in the run for a 50.
-
Alright, thanks. What did you end up getting for U3 and U4 respectively? if you still remember that is haha

I lost several marks on sacs. I think there was only one sac that I did full mark! My overall unit results were around 90-95, and I was rank 5, at a public school. It doesn't hinder your chances, the exam is more influential on your final mark. Stress less and stay focused :)

what SS did you end up getting for Business?, sorry if you don't want to answer

Lost 3 marks out of 100 for the whole year. It is definitely possible.
-
im assuming you also aced the exam?

Well I asked for a statement of Marks and I actually didn't even get full marks for the exam (although it was admittedly close). That was for French though, I reckon for business you should definitely aim to get near full marks to get 50.
Good luck! With enough effort and hard work, you can ace it!

You can normally lose 2-3 marks on the exam (since they are double marked that's actually 1-2 marks lost in practice), to still be in the running for a 50. I'll be honest with you, 50's are pretty hard to get and most people who want a 50 would never get one, but at the end of the day for all intents and purposes a 49 is pretty much equal to 50. Also I've heard rumours busman tends to scale up slightly for study score over ~47.

Busman scaling up? That's a ridiculous rumour.
-
you mean anything below 50 gets scaled down by about 20 lol
-
I know a girl who got 60% on one of her Psychology SACs, yet still managed to get a 50 SS.
Personally, I've gotten 15/20's for 2/6 of my Indo SACs haha.
The exam is definitely more important :)

Once heard my legal teacher who also teaches busman say scores >47 (excluding 50 obviously) scaled up slightly that's where I got it from.

say i was rank1/2 and got an average of around 90% for my sacs all year, and say lost 4-5 marks on exam, possible to get 50?, what would i be looking at

Above a 45 though definitely. It's kinda of ridiculous , 2 of my mates in my class both have 40/40 so far for sacs and one has got 39/40. I don't know about my cohort but I think it's pretty strong.
The first sac the average overall was 15.5 for the 4 classes that do it , i don't know about the second one though.
I still think the exam will determine the final SS definitely , probably applies to all subjects too.

Would I be able to ask how many marks you lost for the exam? I'm confident in all areas except for listening which is such a huge part of the exam, so I'm really worried...sorry if this is a terrible question lol dw if you don't want to answer it. CONGRATS ON 50
